Printed fresh every year, and containing all new questions and updated information, there are 8 books in all: Section 1, Section 2, Section 3, Starter Pack, Time Trial Tests, Interview Techniques, Final Trial Test, and the all-new Update Pack. These hard-copy manuals and tests set you in the right mode for the exam, which is not digitally administered but taken sitting at a desk with a booklet and pencil.

When you apply for one of our courses the starter pack will be emailed out to you directly in a printable pdf format to get you underway immediately. Manuals 1,2,3,5,7 will be posted straight away; manual 6, the UMAT trial paper will be administered at the one-day-workshop (or posted if you are enrolled in the DLP) and the 8th Manual, an update pack, will follow in April. Mailing costs within Australia are covered by NIE.

The ‘Starter Pack’ contains every thing you will need to get started: all the info and strategies to understand, prepare for and succeed during such a ‘highly speeded psychometric exam’. It includes chapters on the anatomy of the UMAT, specific strategies, developing the required reading skills, advice on study, applications and UMAT Prep and numerous practice questions from all sections.

There are manuals for each section which cover what each section is, why it is there, what is expected of you, how you should approach and answer each question, a full teaching syllabus, strategies for maximising your score, worked examples and practice questions.

Manual 1 : Section 1 : Logical Reasoning

Objectives:

Define Logical Reasoning. Develop required LR academic skills. Develop required pacing skills. Develop a confident approach to SI of UMAT.

Description:

Explain LR in relation to UMAT. Outline academic understanding of the Argument, the Question and the Answers. Define the nine different types of LR questions. Provide teaching material, hints tips, pacing skills and strategies for LR questions. Provide worked examples and a bank of practice questions with answers. 100s of practice questions with answers.

Manual 2 : Section 2 Understanding People

Objectives:

Define Understanding People in realtion to UMAT. Develop required Emotional Intelligence and academic skills. Develop required pacing skills. Develop a confident approach to SII of UMAT.

Explain UP in relation to UMAT. Define components of understanding: psychology, emotions, feelings and empathy. Provide a strategy for ethical decision making. Manual 3 : Section 3 Non-verbal Reasoning

Objectives:

Define NVR in relation to UMAT exam. Develop required visual acuity skills. Develop pacing skills and question priority strategy. Develop a confident approach to SIII of UMAT.

Manual 5 : Time Trial Tests

Objectives:

Ensure students are 100% up to date with the latest info, tips and changes for the pending UMAT. All new and relevant curriculum. Numerous groups of any new question styles plus worked examples. Any new tips and tricks.

Please note: the NIE course material is not accessed on line. With online material you will have no ownership, limited access and an experience not true or realistic of a paper-based exam like the UMAT.
